Responsibilities
- Ensure the company's incoming materials and components conform to specification, supporting the manufacturing of hoses, conduits, and back shells for the aerospace industry.
- Be an active member of a proactive, flexible team working across all areas of Quality Operations, and contribute towards continuous quality improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Incoming Goods Inspection & Root Cause Analysis: Inspect, measure, and test all incoming goods to verify conformity to specifications and aerospace standards (such as AS9100). Immediately highlight and document any non-conformities or issues identified during inspection. Support or lead root cause analysis for both supplier and internal rejects and determine corrective actions as needed. Monitor and record the effectiveness of implemented corrective actions. Ensure a smooth workflow of inspected goods through to the next stage of production or storage. When necessary, liaise with suppliers to resolve non-conformance issues relating to delivered goods.
- Documentation: Maintain and complete all inspection documentation to required standards, including accurate records for traceability and audit purposes (FAI, inspection reports, NCRs, etc.).
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in and support continuous improvement initiatives, such as QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control), supporting best practices in quality operations. Maintain work area to 5S standards and suggest improvements where identified.
- Quality Standards: Set and uphold high standards of accuracy and workmanship in all inspection activities. Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Health, Safety & Environment: Actively participate in Health, Safety & Environment initiatives and improvement programmes. Ensure safe handling and proper care of QA tools and inspection equipment, maintaining them in good condition. Adhere to all personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and safety policies.
- QA Team Membership: Collaborate actively as a member of the QA Team, including covering various quality tasks elsewhere on site as needed. Share knowledge and support the development of team members. Own area of work ensuring the highest standards of housekeeping and control. Play a full role in team meetings.
- Reporting: Produce timely, clear, accurate, and comprehensive reports as required (for customers, suppliers, regulatory bodies, etc.). Generate and communicate statistical data and inspection summaries as needed.
Qualifications
- Familiar with quality concepts and practices including elements of AS 9100.
- Ability to use various digital and analogue measurement equipment to determine conformance to specification.
- Ability to support QRQC process, familiar with the methodologies, tools and concepts of quality continuous improvement.
- Technical background essential with knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation including preparation of FAI.
- Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
