The role requires the management of the MPS (master production schedule) for a defined module within Safran Electrical and Power UK. Typically, this will involve the elaboration of the MPS plan over the defined horizon to meet customer requirements and inventory targets. The role will require interaction with largely internal stakeholders as a part of a cross‑functional team, therefore the ability to build effective relationships and influence will be key for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Transfer customer demand into an achievable Master Production Schedule that will produce optimised delivery performance and inventory goals.
  • Check the load/capacity balance on production cells and alert in case of discrepancy.
  • Ensure that the S&OP data is incorporated into the ERP system and the MPS capacity model.
  • Check the overall cohesion of data in the MPS in relation to the aggregated data in S&OP.
  • Ensure the plan is communicated and drive the operations, procurement and logistics teams to achieve the plan.
  • Drive the OTD and ensure we meet our customer commitments (be the focal point for recoveries and output communication).
  • Assess the changes in customer demand and measure impact against capacity constraints, inventory and volumes.
  • Provide data input to the Sales & Operational Planning reviews (S&OP).
  • Maintenance of stock plans that show areas of excess and improvement action plans to meet or beat budgeted inventory.
  • Review key planning parameters to maximise manufacturing effectiveness whilst minimising inventory investment.
  • Analyse the achievement against the plan (MPS compliance), identify trends and actions required to drive the module's overall performance.
  • Ensure the planning element of the ECIN process is actioned and work to define POI with manufacturing engineering and procurement as required.
  • Facilitate NPI (new product introduction) activity regarding planned workload and available capacity.
  • Ensure timely release of kits across the module to the agreed logistics service level.
  • Interface with Supply Chain and schedule the external processing of material as required.
  • As required, load new parts into SAP and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Maintain communication with Operations Management, Procurement, Logistics, CSC & Programs to ensure proactive problem resolution.
  • Manage SAP master data for all manufacturing data through the planning team and be accountable for the accuracy of all the data.
  • Co‑ordinate a strategic approach and process for all manufacturing master data for OE and ensure the wider business has a clear understanding of the processes.
  • Be the benchmark for the MPS management best practice and support training as required.
  • Deputise for the MPS manager in the Sales and Operations Planning process and provide important, detailed information to support the process.
  • Support the MPS manager in the preparation of the data and documentation that support the Supplier Reviews and Pre Sales and Operations Planning meetings.
  • Support the MPS manager in ensuring all KPI's are managed, maintained and reported into the business on a regular basis.
  • Deputise as needed.
  • Support cover of other planners as required.
  • Support the MPS manager in developing planning & training matrix.
  • Go to person for planning processes and SAP knowledge.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in Supply Chain or related areas.
  • Strong experience with MRP (SAP desirable but not essential).
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (in particular Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Wide industry knowledge an advantage.
  • Familiar with Lean tools and concepts an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of internal planning processes.
  • Energetic, results‑oriented, driven individual.
  • Emotionally resilient.
  • Able to see the overall business goals as well as individual module needs.
  • Effective communicator at all levels.
  • Analytical.
  • Excellent organisation/prioritisation skills.
