Your Role:

As a Painter in our Chemical Process area, you will ensure the quality and durability of our aerospace components through precise painting techniques and strict adherence to industry and customer standards. You will be responsible for:

  • Applying specialised coatings to aerospace components using various painting techniques, including spraying, brushing, and dipping
  • Preparing surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking in accordance with technical specifications and requirements
  • Performing quality inspections before, during, and after painting to ensure adherence to specifications and standards
  • Maintaining painting equipment to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety regulations
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Following all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment
  • Conducting pre and post-paint compliance tests
  • Proactively identifying opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and cost-saving initiatives
  • Collaborating with the team to develop and implement techniques and procedures to enhance the painting process

What You'll Bring:

Essential:

  • NVQ level 3 (minimum requirement)
  • Proven experience as a painter, preferably in aerospace or manufacturing industry
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with precision to meet quality standards
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with aerospace coatings, paints, and surface preparation techniques
  • Experience within a chemical processing department
