Lead the Electrical Certification team to ensure the successful delivery of aircraft seat and cabin furniture certification programmes, meeting EASA and FAA requirements, applicable ETSO/TSO standards, CS/14 CFR Part 25 and Part 26 regulations, OEM specifications (Airbus, Boeing), and relevant Special Conditions.

Scope of Responsibilities:
- Line management responsibility for approximately 4 Electrical Certification Engineers.
- Certification support across multiple international programmes.
- UK and international travel as required.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Lead and manage a team of Electrical Certification Engineers, ensuring certification activities are delivered on time, to quality standards, and with a right-first-time approach.
- Plan, coordinate and execute electrical qualification and certification activities for aircraft seats and cabin furniture assemblies incorporating electrical systems such as lighting, actuation, heating, IFE and passenger comfort features.
- Develop, maintain and continuously improve certification processes, procedures, templates and KPI reporting to ensure consistent standards across all business units.
- Produce, review and approve certification documentation including:
- Qualification and test plans/reports
- Electrical load analyses
- Grounding and bonding assessments
- System safety analyses and FMEAs
- Engineering Process Specifications (EPS)
- Design change documentation (ECRs, ADCNs, permits and concessions)
- Review and approve electrical design data, installation drawings, wiring diagrams and system architectures to ensure compliance with certification requirements.
- Liaise with EASA, FAA, Airbus, Boeing, aircraft integrators and equipment suppliers to achieve certification approval and resolve certification challenges.
- Support LRU qualification activities and maintain electrical equipment specifications for all seat-installed systems.
Degree qualified in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent. Minimum 5 years' experience in aircraft electrical certification, including at least 3 years within cabin interiors or aircraft seating products. Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft seat and cabin furniture electrical certification.
Detailed knowledge of:
- EASA Part 21 Subpart J (DOA)
- EASA Part 21 Subpart O (ApDOA)
- CS-25 and 14 CFR Part 25 requirements
- DO-160 and DO-178 qualification standards
- EASA Part 145 and FAA Part 145
Strong understanding of aerospace engineering and product certification processes. Working knowledge of Safran Seats engineering and business management procedures, including ECRs, ADCNs, permits and concessions. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities. Ability to manage multiple certification programmes and priorities simultaneously. High attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance. Strong analytical and problem-solving capability. Ability to influence technical decisions and drive continuous improvement.
