This role is to assure the quality of products throughout the product lifecycle with SSGB. These individuals will support the product lifecycle quality assurance through the complete manufacturing process and take responsibility for ensuring that processes and procedures are in place and adhered to in relation to product quality. The post holder will support the operational throughput of SGB to ensure the required deliverables are completed on time and to the customer's specification and quality standard.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for either Industrial Park Operations Quality Team / Kestrel House Operations Quality Team / Manufacturing Unit Quality Team. This includes, but not limited to, managing all T&A for the team, being the point of contact for Operations Quality in the respective areas.
  • Contributes towards interface/interaction with Customers and cross functionally at SGB.
  • Product Release (EASA and CAA Form 1) Signatory.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Working closely with the Operational Manager as well as other quality teams to define quality objectives in line with company objectives.
  • To ensure that measuring of the quality of products and services are delivered, with respect to the specified objectives.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the appropriate action plans are implemented and carried out and measure their effectiveness.
  • Responsible for conducting audits and OJT in accordance with regulations, company procedures and customer requirements.
  • To support and maintain the implementation validation process.
  • Support for in-production quality aspects.
  • Support an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for the analysis of all data to develop quality improvement plans, ensuring their effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Responsible for ensuring that products and services delivered to the customers have gone through the appropriate manufacturing / repair / validation process, by:
    • Defining, updating and ensuring compliance with key points for achieving quality;
    • Ensuring the due processing of customer dissatisfaction, non-compliance (production) and/or deviations from maintenance data (MRO);
    • Ensuring that the necessary quality related accreditations, special procedures and measurement devices/systems are in place and properly managed;
    • Managing the quality of outsourced production or MRO service providers (offloading or interoperation);
    • Acting as a point of contact for internal customers, representatives of external customers and partners for all aspects of operations quality.
    • Stopping any action that could have an unacceptable impact on the quality of a product and propose the necessary conditions for a restart.
  • Undertake QRQC (8D) as required to support timely operational throughput as required.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to individuals in the operational areas for in-production quality requirements.

Qualifications:

  • HNC / HND or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline (Essential).
  • In depth understanding and/or experience in utilising QA Tools such as APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, Control Plans, FMEA, Poke Yoke and RCCA (Essential).
  • Line Management experience (Essential).
  • 8D Report writing (Essential).
  • Sound Engineering / Quality background with experience of Quality Engineering in the Aerospace / Defence industry (Essential).
  • Experienced Quality Engineer within Internal Design Teams (Essential).
  • In depth understanding of regulatory, international and aerospace quality management standards (Essential).
  • Experience in managing HSE risks and flight safety risks. Internal Auditor AS9100 trained (Desirable).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to initiate and maintain relationships with challenging international suppliers and manage frequent interactions with Senior Management and other internal customers (Essential).
  • Ability to challenge individuals at all levels to ensure compliance to business processes and standards (Essential).
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills (Essential).
  • Competent / Confident communicator with an ability to establish good working relationships across all departments and with Customer and Regulatory Authority at all levels (Essential).
  • Experience within the Aerospace industry, preferably interiors (Desirable).
  • CQI member (Desirable).
  • Production experience (Desirable).
