We are looking for passionate individuals to join our DMU team as a Digital Mock Up Engineer at our Cwmbran, South Wales site.
Your Role
As a DMU Engineer, you'll play a pivotal part in supporting our product structure throughout its lifecycle. Working with the latest in mechanical design, you'll ensure our digital models are robust, compliant and always a step ahead, while championing our continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring seamless collaboration across our teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and management of project LOPA (Layout of Passenger Accommodations) structures, updating design data and Space Allocation Models as per DMU standards.
- Prepare certification support documents, including Test BOMs (Bill of Materials) and Definition Control Models.
- Guarantee systems are accurate, consistent, and validated via maturity models.
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and composite design teams, keeping master geometry and project interfaces consistent.
- Prepare and validate design data for submission to major OEMs, including Airbus and Boeing.
- Ensure data quality in Catia V5 - including clash checks, model reviews, and maintaining a clean, error-free design environment.
- Support ongoing improvement by sharing best practices, contributing to methodology development and participating in process optimization.
What You'll Bring
- Essential: Degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent in Engineering discipline.
- Essential: Proficiency with Catia V5 and Smarteam systems.
- Essential: Strong knowledge of engineering release and approval processes.
- Essential: Highly organized, effective communicator and team coordinator.
- Essential: Strong time-management skills; shows initiative and collaborates well.
- Experience in aerospace/automotive design teams - desirable.
- Knowledge of Boeing and Airbus specifications - desirable.
