About the Role

Reporting to the Finance Accounting Manager, you will play a key role in managing, analysing and optimising cash performance across Safran Actuation UK entities. This is an exciting opportunity to influence business performance by delivering accurate cash reporting, insightful forecasting and meaningful financial analysis while working closely with stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain and Shared Services.

You will be responsible for maximising cash performance, reducing aged debt, managing supplier payments and providing valuable insight into foreign currency movements and hedging exposure. Working as part of a collaborative finance team, you will help ensure robust financial controls, continuous process improvement and compliance with accounting standards.

Role Summary:

  • Reporting to Finance Accounting Manager
  • Responsible for analysing, controlling and optimising cash for the Safran Actuation UK entities.
  • Support the Finance Accounting Manager to ensure financial data submissions are accurate and provide good quality information to allow meaningful analysis.
  • Maximising the UK entities cash performance while focusing on reduction of aged debt and managing payments to suppliers with the Finance Shared Services (FSS).
  • Own the reporting of actual cash results, bank reconciliations and delivery of insight-driven cash forecasts and budgets.
  • Partner with Value Stream Finance Teams, Supply Chain, FSS and other functions around the business to understand changes in their currency flows to enable key insights to the impact on currency hedging and operational cash performance to make recommendations to mitigate foreign exchange exposure.
  • Work as part of a Finance team consisting of qualified, part qualified and entry level staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of the management and reporting of cash across all the Safran Actuation UK Entities which includes Wolverhampton, Banbury, Claverham and Group holding companies.
  • Ownership of month end Actual cash reporting, budgeting, and ongoing forecasting of cash by collaborating with various internal stakeholders to understand and report the fluctuations in currency flows.
  • Clear communication: can explain foreign currency and hedging financial impacts in plain language to non-financial leaders with the ability to tell the story.
  • Actively seek opportunities and make recommendations to mitigate foreign currency exposures.
  • Oversee the Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections and Accounts Payable functions with a direct link into the Finance Shared Services (FSS).
  • Own the daily/weekly/Monthly overdue customer debt reporting and actively lead the reduction of overdue debt position across the business in addition to managing the supplier payments process with the FSS to maximise the cash position of the business.
  • Oversee the reconciliations of the bank accounts, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions with a direct link into the Finance Shared Services (FSS).

Essential

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Strong Analytical skills with advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent financial planning, analysis, and reporting skills
  • Ability to digest and manipulate complex data sets to translate into meaningful information.
  • FP&A or management accounting experience in a manufacturing and engineering business.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, be self-motivated and be an effective communicator.
