Safran Nacelles is a worldwide leader in aircraft engine nacelles, supplying products and services across all aircraft types.
Your role as a Special Process Quality Engineer will involve ensuring the robustness, compliance, and continuous improvement of special processes across Safran Nacelles and its supply chain. You will support the qualification, monitoring, and improvement of special process installations both in-house and at suppliers across the UK and internationally.
You will contribute to the industrialisation of special processes, ensuring practices meet Safran, regulatory, and industry requirements—including NADCAP. Your responsibilities will include:
- Resolving technical issues and proposing corrective and preventive actions
- Providing expert guidance to maintain product quality and operational continuity
- Coordinating NADCAP accreditation activities
- Leading internal and supplier audits
- Supporting operator qualification
- Representing Safran within the Group's Special Processes Competence Network
Your work will directly support product safety, process excellence, and the continuous improvement of our global supply chain.
What you’ll bring:
Essential:
- Strong technical knowledge of composites, or alternatively welding, heat treatment, chemical processing, or NDT
- Engineering-related HNC / HND / degree with ideally 3+ years’ experience in aerospace, automotive, or similar industries
- Good knowledge of quality tools such as FMEA, 8D, and risk analysis
- Experience in complex problem solving and delivering improvement projects
- Experience in quality planning for the introduction of new special processes and installations
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Strong planning, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a team
- Proficiency with IT tools including MS Office and databases
- Proactive mindset with a willingness to take on new challenges
Desirable:
- Experience with aerospace quality standards
- Knowledge or experience of auditing
- Experience coordinating or supporting NADCAP accreditations
- Driving licence
- Experience working within a global supply chain environment
