About the Role
This is a great opportunity to play a key role in customs, trade compliance and logistics operations within a global aerospace organisation.
You'll take ownership of key customs activities, ensuring accurate import and export data, supporting HMRC submissions, managing documentation and helping the business stay compliant with evolving requirements such as CBAM.
Alongside customs, you'll support the smooth movement of goods across the UK and internationally, coordinating brokers, carriers, warehouses and internal teams.
From managing SAP transactions and export documentation to coordinating express shipments, airfreight and regular international transport flows, you'll have a hands‑on role in keeping critical aerospace supply chains moving efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Manage import and export customs activities, ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
- Reconcile customs data and investigate discrepancies, corrections and amendments.
- Support HMRC submissions, including Inward Processing and CBAM requirements.
- Ensure customs information and documentation is accurate, complete and up to date.
- Maintain records for military, export-controlled and urgent/AOG shipments.
- Work closely with customs brokers, carriers, warehouses and internal teams to resolve queries.
- Support customs audits, process improvements and business continuity activities.
- Process goods movements, receipts and invoice checks using SAP.
- Coordinate export documentation, UK–Morocco shuttles, express shipments and international freight.
- Use SAP and Shiptify to manage shipments, stock requirements and logistics activities.
- What You’ll Bring
Essential
- Experience in an importing, exporting, manufacturing, logistics or freight-forwarding environment, with a good understanding of international shipment processes.
- Strong attention to detail, accurate data-entry skills and the ability to analyse information, identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and collaborate confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable
- Knowledge of customs compliance, including customs declarations, special procedures or post-entry corrections.
- Experience using SAP or another ERP system, with good working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word and Planner.
- Experience liaising with customs brokers, carriers, warehouse operators and other logistics partners.
- A proactive, resilient and continuous improvement mindset, with a willingness to develop further knowledge of customs compliance, export control and international logistics.
