Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Operations Process Management team to coordinate workload and resources across shifts to meet operational requirements.
- Ensure operational expectations are aligned with team capabilities, identifying skills gaps and addressing them through training and problem-solving initiatives.
- Manage dedicated work centres to ensure resources, productivity, quality, and delivery targets are achieved.
- Drive a Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement culture, supporting business objectives focused on cost competitiveness and operational excellence.
- Support the ongoing development of team members, identifying training and development needs to ensure skills remain aligned to operational requirements.
- Support ownership and delivery of weekly operational plans and production goals.
- Organise and oversee the training of new operators, ensuring experienced team members coach and mentor individuals until required quality and productivity standards are achieved.
- Promote Health & Safety within the area of responsibility and ensure risk assessments and ergonomic assessments remain current and effective.
- Monitor team performance and elevate any issues, risks, or deviations that could impact efficiency, quality, delivery, or safety.
- Encourage innovation and challenge existing ways of working to improve processes
Essential Skills
- Experience leading a team within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong people management, coaching, and training skills.
- Ability to plan and coordinate workload to meet production targets.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Understanding of Health & Safety and quality standards.
- Continuous Improvement and Lean mindset.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within composites or aerospace manufacturing.
- Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement qualifications.
- Supervisory or leadership training/qualification.
- Knowledge of composite manufacturing processes.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems and production reporting tools.
- Understanding of performance management and team development.
