About the Role
Based at our Actuation Systems headquarters in Wolverhampton, you’ll gain hands‑on experience within a world‑class aerospace manufacturing environment. Over three years, you’ll rotate through key areas of Manufacturing Engineering, gaining exposure to New Product Introduction (NPI), New Technology, Operational Support, Continuous Improvement, Project Management and shop floor operations. These placements will provide opportunities to work on live projects, develop technical expertise and contribute to the delivery of innovative aerospace products.
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and manufacturing specialists, supporting the introduction of new technologies, improving manufacturing processes and helping to solve complex engineering challenges. Throughout the programme, you’ll be supported by dedicated mentors, structured development and regular reviews, helping you build the skills needed for a successful engineering career at Safran.
Responsibilities
- Complete structured rotations across key Manufacturing Engineering functions.
- Support the introduction of new products and manufacturing technologies.
- Assist in developing manufacturing methods and processes for new aerospace products.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, efficiency and performance.
- Analyse manufacturing data and support problem-solving activities.
- Provide operational support to help achieve business and production objectives.
- Work closely with engineering, operations and quality teams on business‑critical projects.
- Gain practical experience within manufacturing and shop floor environments.
- Build technical knowledge across aerospace manufacturing processes and systems.
- Take ownership of your development and career progression.
Candidate Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Achieved, or be on track to achieve, a minimum 2:1 degree in an Engineering or Digital discipline.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
- A proactive attitude, a passion for engineering innovation, and an interest in manufacturing.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience of CAD, 2D drafting or 3D modelling.
- Knowledge of digital technologies, coding, additive manufacturing or 3D printing.
- Engineering‑related hobbies, projects, work experience or volunteering activities.

Stage 3 - Assessment Centre
