Overview
As Senior Industrialisation Engineer, you will mature and deliver industrialisation for new or modified products and processes, ensuring readiness, quality, and cost targets. You will act as a technical owner for work packages and drive robust process development, DFM/DTC, and efficiency across the lifecycle. You lead a small team, coach colleagues, and ensure adherence to standards and schedules. You will work across Design, Quality, Supply Chain, HSE, and Operations to enable smooth launches and continuous improvement. This role offers impact by shaping manufacturing readiness and cost-effective production at Safran.
Responsibilities
- Design and document processes, PFMEA/Control Plans, work instructions, routings, tooling specs, line balancing, trials (PPAP/FAI)
- Lead capability studies (Cp/Cpk) and issue resolution (8D)
- Qualification of new tools and working practices
- Serve as the production line technical focal point and approve others' work when needed
- Lead/coordinate industrial work packages and NRC planning; mentor juniors and collaborate cross-functionally
- Apply standards (OneSafran, APQP/PPAP, MSA, SPC, ERP/MES, HSE, regulatory)
- Identify and implement continuous improvement using LEAN tools (SMED, 5S, Poka‑Yoke) and pilots for digital tools
- Own PFMEA actions, run-at-rate, pre-production builds, capacity verification; lead RCCA for launches
- Build costed routings; support capex business cases and ROI; ensure targets and KPIs
- Prepare deliverables: PFMEA, Control Plans, WI/SOPs, line layout, PPAP/FAI packs, MSA/SPC reports
Key requirements
- Proven manufacturing/industrialisation experience with APQP/PPAP/SPC
- HNC / HND in mechanical, electronics or Production Engineering or equivalent
- Experience as focal point for technologies and processes
- Broad production engineering background including cost down and DFM/DTC
- Strong communication and ability to influence across levels
- Problem solving and data-driven reporting of findings
- Experience leading process improvement and capability assessments
- Understanding of SPC, PFMEA, DFM & DTC activities
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and meet deadlines
- Experience with supply base relationships and regulatory knowledge (REACH, HSE)
