Overview

As a Principal Electro-Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the technical and economic performance of mechanical systems for rotating machinery and electric machines across product lifecycles. You will shape roadmaps, perform market analysis, and drive design reviews to ensure first-time-right outcomes. You’ll collaborate with R&D and cross-functional teams to stay ahead of trends and customer needs. This role offers impact in advancing hybrid and electric propulsion technologies within a global aerospace leader.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and technical reviews to ensure First Time Right design methodology
  • Analyze market needs, trends and competition to keep products ahead of the curve
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps in collaboration with R&T teams
  • Validate tender compliance during bids to meet customer requirements
  • Serve as main contact for mechanical design and rotating electric machines issues
  • Identify and influence research and technology studies related to assigned products
  • Ensure product line meets technical and economic performance targets
  • Collaborate across functions to ensure alignment with product policy and architecture

Key requirements

  • Degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering (preferred)
  • Substantial experience in mechanical design of rotating machinery and electric machines
  • Understanding of airworthiness requirements and EASA/FAA/RTCA regulations
  • Experience leading NPIs or sizeable projects as lead or project engineer
  • Familiarity with design for manufacture and assembly, cost reduction
  • Proficiency with Catia V5, Windchill and Integrity
  • Evidence of written English at interview stage
