Mastering the on-board energy system, the company designs and provides modular, innovative and optimised architectures and solutions. Your RoleThe Project Manager plays a pivotal role in leading the delivery of complex engineering development programmes that shape the future of aerospace innovation. Working closely with the Project Chief Engineer, Programme Manager and global stakeholders, you'll drive programme performance from concept through to entry into service, ensuring delivery against cost, quality, schedule and customer commitments. Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution and delivery of engineering development programmes, ensuring performance, cost, quality and schedule objectives are achieved.
  • Drive programme governance, risk management and decision-making, escalating key issues and recommendations to senior leadership and steering committees.
  • Own project schedules, budgets and development milestones from contract award through to entry into service.
  • Act as a primary interface for customers, partners, suppliers and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the programme lifecycle.
  • Lead cross-functional Integrated Programme Teams across UK, France and US sites, coordinating engineering, industrialisation, procurement and partner activities.
  • Manage programme risks, opportunities, changes and configuration control activities, ensuring robust assessment of cost, schedule and technical impacts.
  • Develop and maintain project dashboards, governance reviews and performance reporting, providing accurate programme status updates to leadership teams.
  • Champion continuous improvement, project management best practice and the effective use of Safran's development processes, methodologies and digital tools. But what else?   • Degree qualified in Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline, or able to demonstrate equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience leading complex engineering development programmes within aerospace, defence or another highly-regulated industrial manufacturing industry.
  • Strong track record of delivering programmes against cost, schedule and quality targets across the full product development lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated experience managing customer relationships and engaging with senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary, geographically dispersed teams, including suppliers and external development partners.
  • Strong knowledge of project and programme management methodologies (APM, PMI or equivalent), alongside experience of stage-gate or PLM-based development processes.
