b Overview /b p In this role you will drive the introduction of new and updated products into production, ensuring on-time, on-cost and high quality results. You will collaborate with design and other functions to ensure manufacturability and smooth hand-offs to operations. You will participate in design reviews, evaluate designs with 3D CAD and log issues, and lead APQP/PPAP activities and PFMEA. You will analyze capacity, tooling and line setup to optimize production processes and support customers, sales, R T and after-market teams. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Participate in design reviews and suggest improvements /li li Evaluate new product designs using 3D CAD models and mock-ups; log issues /li li Coordinate design for assembly/manufacture reviews and provide feedback /li li Ensure development mock-ups are built to schedule /li li Evaluate design, log issues and provide feedback to design engineers /li li Make improvement suggestions and validate solutions /li li Conduct make vs buy analysis and seek optimization opportunities /li li Collaborate with purchasing and design to drive changes /li li Calculate production capacity requirements and identify tooling/space needs /li li Estimate build times and number of stations for new processes /li li Perform line balancing of operations /li li Produce APQP PPAP documentation (process flow, PFMEA, control plan, W Instructions, MSA capability studies) /li li Prepare and lead PFMEA reviews and use outcomes to drive improvements /li li Validate product design against system requirements for quality and performance /li li Identify tooling/equipment requirements and write supplier specification documents /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li B.Eng. in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering OR HND gained through an apprenticeship /li li Minimum of 2 years of aerospace or automotive manufacturing experience /li li Basic knowledge of design for manufacture and assembly principles /li li Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes /li li Experience with 3D CAD modelling software /li li Ability to interpret 2D drawings /li li Experience with company and regulatory processes, standards and specifications /li /ul ul li 3D CAD modelling /li li PFMEA /li li APQP PPAP /li li Process documentation (work instructions) /li li Line balancing /li li Make vs. buy analysis /li /ul
