We're looking for a Logistics Apprentice to join our team in Burnley on a 2-year fixed-term contract while completing the 18-month Level 3 International Freight Forwarding Specialist Apprenticeship. This is an exciting opportunity to build a career in logistics and international trade within a world-leading aerospace organisation, gaining practical experience alongside a recognised qualification.

Working closely with our Logistics team, you'll learn how to coordinate the timely movement of products around the world, ensuring deliveries reach the right place, at the right time, with the correct documentation and by the most efficient transport methods. You'll gain exposure to customs processes, international shipping, supply chain operations, transport management systems, and stakeholder management while supporting critical business activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the coordination of import and export shipments and associated documentation.
  • Assist with checking customs entries and maintaining logistics records.
  • Raise export paperwork including invoices, packing lists and shipping documentation.
  • Support transport bookings for routine, ad-hoc and express deliveries.
  • Process deliveries and inter-company shipments using SAP.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve shipment queries.
  • Create and maintain stock requirement reports and logistics data.
  • Assist with invoice reconciliation, purchase requisitions and goods receipt activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the logistics function.
  • Complete apprenticeship learning activities while developing professional logistics and freight forwarding knowledge.

Contract: 2-Year Fixed Term Contract

Apprenticeship Programme: Level 3 International Freight Forwarding Specialist Apprenticeship (18 months)

Selection Process: Online assessment followed by a half-day Assessment Centre at our Burnley site.

What You'll Bring:

  • A good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate data entry skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • A positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Knowledge or understanding of importing and exporting processes (Desirable).
  • Awareness of customs or freight forwarding activities (Desirable).
  • Experience using SAP or other business systems (Desirable).
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience prioritising workload and managing multiple tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexible attitude towards learning new processes and systems.
