Introduction
Safran Engineering Services is seeking a Quality Engineer focused on First Article Inspection Reports (also known as DVI-PPAP in Safran).
The FAIR Engineer will work within the Quality Assurance Team to review and validate Supplier First Article Inspection Reports in accordance with AS9102 standards. The role requires the capability to handle the entire process, including reviewing, approving, and securing delegated signatory authority for the Supplier FAIRs.
This position involves close collaboration with customers and stakeholders across the business to maintain satisfaction and confidence. The role is based onsite at Pitstone, Hertfordshire, with options for hybrid work after initial training.
Responsibilities
- Review and validate Suppliers\’ FAIR (DVI-PPAP)
- Ensure procedures comply with Safran, NADCAP, and Customer requirements
- Liaise with Suppliers to resolve issues and facilitate part release for production
- Support qualification of internal special process activities
- Verify items in the Industrial Validation checklist
- Conduct research and inquiries with Suppliers to ensure process compliance
- Participate in requirement updates or equipment modifications as needed
- Perform other ad hoc duties as directed by the QA Engineer
Requirements
- Located in the UK with proof of right to work
- 3-5 years of experience as a quality engineer in manufacturing
- Familiarity with industry standards (AS9102 required; AS9103 and AS9145 advantageous)
- Strong knowledge of quality control procedures and tools
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience with supplier development and quality
- Knowledge of 8D and problem-solving techniques (preferred but not essential)
- Manual inspection experience
- Motivated team player with attention to detail
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
