In order to develop and expand the capabilities of SAFRAN Engineering Services in the UK, we are looking to recruit a Project Engineer to support the overall program by coordinating, leading and managing various projects in engineering, Industrialization test & development. The role is based in Pitstone, 5 days a week with the possibility to extend.
Key Responsibilities:
- Effective planning of engineering projects including design, product development and testing
- Creation of coherent work breakdown structures and product breakdown structures
- Creation of robust and detailed engineering plans
- Effective cost management, and allocation of resources
- Capturing requirements and foreseeing / monitoring scope creep
- Generate & maintain customer product specifications
- Effective management of complex work packages
- Take ownership of providing key performance indicators and any other metrics for the project
- Manage and monitor engineering change requests through support functions
- Assess and manage technical risks to avoid adverse project impact
- Initiate and support problem solving
- Communicate efficiently and clearly with internal and external suppliers and customers
Other Responsibilities:
- Generate and have input in the creation of Statement of Work
- Manage project resourcing requirements
- Report project status covering technical scope and challenges
- Identify and manage the resolution of emergent risks and issues, and elevate if required
Qualifications:
- Degree level or equivalent, MSc preferred with a minimum of 5 years experience in industry + Project Management experience
Essential skills:
- Product development knowledge
- Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering
- Understanding of systems design
- Configuration management & control
- DFMEA / PFMEA
- Competent communicator & good listener
- Well versed with industry standard Project & financial management
- Experienced in using MS applications and digital tools
5 weeks holiday per year plus statutory bank holidays. Personal pension scheme whereby 5% contribution from employee and 8% from employer plus salary sacrifice. Death in service life insurance – covering up to 4x annual basic salary in the event of death in service. PEGI Share Scheme. Career development within Safran Group.
