Summary for TE Domain:

  • To facilitate and perform testing and qualification activities in the Test Laboratory.
  • Ensure equipment is well maintained, operated safely, and the area is kept well organised.
  • Ensure that products requiring routine or qualification testing are tested in a systematic and planned way to meet required specifications.
  • Provide data that will help improve the quality and features of the products.

Testing:

  • Test and qualify existing products to ensure that they continue to meet the defined specifications and approvals.
  • Be involved in the testing of new products to assist in their approval and ensure they meet the correct specification.
  • Investigate any test failures or anomalies, following up with the relevant managers or departments.
  • Report on the findings of the testing programmes, suggesting changes where appropriate and establishing measurements for improvements.
  • Drive technical and statistical investigations on products and processes, including root‐cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative actions.
  • Write test reports summarising the findings, conclusions and pictorial evidence of the test as defined in the report templates.

Equipment:

  • Own and manage all of the testing equipment, ensuring that they are properly calibrated, safe and properly maintained.

Procedures:

  • Oversee test procedures, amending and improving them as appropriate.
  • Record test results for future reference.

Communication:

  • Liaise with other key departments such as engineering, as well as customers and suppliers where appropriate.
  • Give feedback to Engineers on progress and issues related to work.
  • Raise ideas for improvement or concerns, if appropriate.

General:

  • Assist internal and external audit teams to ensure that the Quality system complies with relevant standards.
  • Champion all aspects of the Company's continuous improvement programme and identify opportunities for implementing process improvements.
  • Set and maintain visible standards of housekeeping for all areas under control.
  • Undertake any additional tasks as may be delegated by the Laboratory Lead, Engineering or Quality Manager.

Health, Safety & Environment:

  • Participate in the Company's safety initiatives.
  • Set high personal standards in H&S and Environment.
  • Ensure full adherence to the Company's environmental procedures and rules.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, materials science, or a related technical field.
  • Several years of hands‐on experience in aerospace testing or laboratory environments.
  • Familiarity with aerospace materials, components, and industry standards (e.g., AS910).

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in designing and conducting mechanical, electrical, or environmental tests on aerospace components.
  • Knowledge in operating and maintaining laboratory instrumentation (e.g., tensile testers, fatigue machines, environmental chambers).
  • Data analysis and technical report writing.
  • Proficiency with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) and statistical tools.

Soft Skills:

  • Clear verbal and written communication.
  • Organisational skills for scheduling and resource management.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to safety.
