Location: Pitstone, Tring, Hertfordshire

Your Role:
As a Supply Chain Field Engineer, you will play a key role in managing recovery plans related to supply shortages, supporting Supplier Performance and Supply Chain teams, and contributing to continuous improvement through lean manufacturing methodologies. You will conduct supplier assessments and audits, collaborate on resolving major quality issues, and lead risk analyses within our supplier management organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage recovery plans for shortages using Line of Balance management.
- Work directly with Supplier Performance Quality Managers to monitor and improve supplier performance.
- Support Supply Chain teams on escalations or critical issues and recovery plans.
- Implement Check and Act action plans within the SPM organisation.
- Participate in supplier assessments and technical audits.
- Address and escalate significant quality concerns, conduct risk analyses.
- Promote safe work practices and support the development of our health, safety, and environmental culture.
What You’ll Bring:
Essential:
- Strong working knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, supply-chain principles, lean sigma, and quality standards.
- Solid background in manufacturing, procurement, and business management.
- Problem-solving skills, process audit experience, and lean manufacturing workshop facilitation.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and Microsoft suite.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Purchasing or related, with 3 years' experience in quality systems and 2 years in materials, purchasing or lean manufacturing (or equivalent combination of education/experience).
- Fluent English communication, strong project management and negotiating skills.
Desirable:
- Other language skills.
- Lean qualifications.
