The UK Safran Electrical & Power team has expertise in designing and developing electrical systems comprising generators, power conversion, distribution and control, with developing expertise in electric motors for aircraft propulsion. The Role
As a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer at Safran Electrical & Power you will investigate, analyse and implement corrective actions on supplier non-conformities, assuring the quality of articles and services purchased meet the standards of a global leading aerospace organisation. You will anticipate, detect, address and capitalise on risks and weak signals, proactively analysing them to prevent further risks and propose mitigation plans with suppliers.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, managing non-conformities through investigation, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Oversee quality events and monitor processing time, contributing to handling supplier deviations.
- Promote best practices and innovative improvements among suppliers through effective investigation, evaluation and feedback on supplier compliance issues.
- Administer the supplier First Article Inspection reports within PPAP and APQP.
- Ensure industrial validation process milestones are met, ensuring modifications to stakeholders are proposed based on supplier's maturity, the component, the processes and best practices.
- Coordinate supplier concession requests.
- Proactively analyse risks and weak signals in order to prevent further risks, proposing robust mitigation plans when necessary.
Desirable Experience
We are looking for candidates with a range of skills and experience, but we're also keen to help people grow and develop in this role. If you have some or all of the following, we'd love to hear from you:
- Strong knowledge of quality problem solving methodologies including 8D.
- Comprehensive understanding engineering drawings and fundamentals of geometric dimensions & tolerances.
- Strong technical background in manufacturing, ideally aerospace or automotive.
- Excellent knowledge of AS9100 and other quality standards.
- Solid understanding of supply chain management.
- Good understanding and experience of all phases of APQP.
- Ability to establish positive and proactive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Intermediate understanding of process manufacturing management and project management.
- Basic understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles.
- An understanding of Part-21/Part-145.
- Evidence of written English at interview stage.
