Your Role
Accountable for the development and delivery of effective purchasing strategies and supplier readiness for future projects within the electric propulsion systems marketplace for a global leading aerospace organisation. Develop and implement purchasing strategy to support new productions from concept, through prototyping and into production. Lead purchasing activities to support these projects using purchasing tools, tracking cost, line of balance and ensuring material availability for the different builds, following the main Program Schedule. Negotiate pricing aligned to the project needs through PPAP, qualification and ultimately production handover. Partner with commodity and industrialisation teams for best supplier selection and contractual flow‑down. Negotiate with identified external supply chain and ensure material cost drivers are understood and visible to programme teams/engineers. Lead all design‑for‑cost, design‑for‑manufacture and design‑for‑quality activities to achieve the expected product cost through the extended supply chain.
What You’ll Bring
Essential
- Qualification or strong experience in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering environment.
- Experience working within an aerospace, automotive or manufacturing environment.
- Strong purchasing and negotiation skills, and good commercial awareness.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings.
Desirable
- Good working knowledge of SAP.
- Ability to communicate and influence people of varying levels within the organisation.
- Understanding of DFM/DFA/DFX methodology.
