The Trainee Facilities Engineer will work as part of the Facilities team to support the site’s footprint project, involving detailed surveys of existing aerospace assembly and process equipment. Developing the new layout configuration working with the manufacturing engineering and the tooling team to optimise the layout and manage the procurement, installation and commissioning of the infrastructure facility ready to move, commission and handover the project in its new location.
This role would ideally suit an Engineer experienced in the Aerospace Industry looking to progress into Facilities Management / Project Management Role.
What will I be doing?
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analysis of the industrial need, feasibility studies and initial proposals
- Detail 3D & 2D designs and layout drawings using CATIA and AUTOCAD
- Building services lighting, compressed air, electrical infrastructure and vacuum services
- Point of use services to assembly line, vac, electricity, air, data
- Working with surveyors and professional bodies to ensure compliance with current legislation
- Working with suppliers to develop a technical and commercial solution
- Working collaboratively with various stakeholders (manufacturing engineers, tooling, HSE)
- Strategic planning of new facilities to ensure alignment with future needs
- Facility specifications for RFQ tenders and buy-off criteria
- Ensure critical geometry is recorded prior to fixture moves
- Planning and supervising the safe lifting and movement of assembly fixtures
- Full control of contractors to Safran and site SHE standards, including UK CDM legislation
- Production of technical data to train and hand over the asset to the operations team
- Support on training and fault finding on installed facility post commissioning
- Working closely with suppliers during installation and commissioning
