At SBS, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional service to our members while driving financial innovation. As a Financial Business Partner - Projects, you’ll play a key role in supporting high-impact projects, ensuring financial efficiency, and shaping the future of our Society.
Purpose: Operates as part of the Commercial Finance team to ensure robust management of project spend from business planning and delivery. Delivers accurate and timely assessment and oversight of project-related spend through clear communication. Supports the Strategic Business Partner in delivering strategic financial insight.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Engage across business functions to evaluate spend prior to and during project activity.
- Assess appropriateness of spend capitalisation either as tangible or intangible asset.
- Maintain accurate records of Tangible, Intangible and Operating Costs.
- Ensure capital costs are recorded correctly in the accounting system with accurate management of depreciation timing.
- Ensure projects stay within budget and meet financial targets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive commercial success.
- Identify risks and opportunities to enhance financial performance.
- Construct annual budget and 5-year plan to support the projects in delivering the wider business strategy.
What we are looking for:
- Qualified or part qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong project accounting experience with budgeting and forecasting expertise.
- Excellent analytical skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Confident communicator who can influence and challenge stakeholders.
- Experience or awareness of Power BI and SQL preferable.
- Ability to work independently and drive results.
