The predicted salary is between 70000 - 90000 £ per year.
The successful candidate will be part of Saffery’s Corporate Tax team, managing a diverse client portfolio and delivering both corporate tax advisory and compliance services.
While a large proportion of work will focus on the Natural Capital sector, there will also be opportunities to assist on other advisory projects undertaken by the team.
Direct experience in the Natural Capital sector is not required – a skilled tax adviser with a keen interest in learning about Natural Capital and a passion for positive environmental impact will be ideal.
The role offers the chance to work with leading Natural Capital businesses across areas such as rewilding, biodiversity net gain, carbon sequestration, landscape recovery schemes and natural flood management.
The successful candidate should have expertise in tax advisory work, particularly tax structuring projects, and may have advised businesses in the broader property sector (real estate funds, infrastructure, landed estates).
Experience coordinating advice from specialists such as VAT, employment and stamp duties, and managing projects with multiple stakeholders, is required.
The role also includes business development activities, marketing Saffery’s services in the Natural Capital sector and contributing to the growth of the wider team.
This client‑facing role offers exposure to a range of stakeholders and presents numerous interesting technical challenges.
Responsibilities
- Deliver tax advisory and structuring projects, including working with accounting colleagues to understand accounting for Natural Capital and advising on the best structure for Natural Capital projects considering tax implications across stakeholders.
- Advising on a range of technical areas such as the taxation of trading and investment businesses, capital allowances claims, R&D tax relief, transfer pricing, substantial shareholdings exemption, Capital Gains Tax and the deductibility of interest including the Corporate Interest Restriction, and withholding tax, with specialist support where required.
- Delivery of stand‑alone tax advisory projects, including structuring, acquisitions and disposals, transaction support and due diligence.
- Perform detailed technical research and respond to ad‑hoc technical queries from clients and other teams.
- Identify and deliver advisory opportunities within the allocated client portfolio.
- Deliver tax compliance and tax accounting projects to clients in the Natural Capital sector, working with the accounts team to provide necessary corporate and deferred tax disclosure for statutory accounts.
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of junior team members.

Our Corporate Tax team spans nine office locations, comprises seven partners, and over one hundred professionals, dealing with clients across a wide array of sectors including manufacturing, technology, retail, recruitment, financial services, hospitality and property.
