The Saffery Film, Television, and Video Games (FTVG) team is a market leader in the sector. Our clients include all the major Hollywood studios, major streaming networks as well as many independent film, television and video game studios headquartered in the UK and overseas. We also work with many other businesses ancillary to production, such as film financiers, visual effects and post‑production houses and other service providers.
Due to significant growth, we are looking for an assistant manager to join our team in London. The role offers the opportunity to work on some of the most exciting clients in the sector, helping them to navigate a complex tax landscape and fully benefit from the tax incentives available. You’ll play a key role in delivering tax services to our clients and will be part of a close and supportive team invested in your future and success. There is scope to make a real impact and progress quickly within this growing team.
Responsibilities
- Delivery of tax credit claims and compliance and reporting engagements for a portfolio of groups.
- Assist with tax advisory projects, undertake technical research, provide training and technical development for the team.
- Supported by the manager group, you will help to mentor and develop the junior team members, providing training and supervising their work.
- Work on HMRC enquiries and deal with queries from HMRC.
- Support the team with business development and policy initiatives.
What we look for
We are seeking a corporate tax professional with a background in professional practice. Previous sector experience (including experience of creative sector tax credits) is not a requirement. An interest in our clients, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous professional development is needed. To qualify for the role, you will be professionally qualified ACA/CTA (or equivalent) with UK corporate tax experience. You will be enthusiastic and keen to develop your technical skills. You will need to have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with a collaborative mindset. The position will provide a fantastic opportunity to develop as a project and people manager. We will offer full training and support on the operation of the creative sector reliefs and support you with professional development.

A 35‑hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (our core hours are 10‑4). Excellent benefits including contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave, Life Assurance cover and great flexible benefits and family‑friendly policies. Eligibility for the firm's Profit‑Sharing Plan. Paid in December. Eligibility for the discretionary bonus scheme.
