The role involves developing, enhancing, and supporting custom applications, automations, integrations, and AI-powered solutions using the Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Agent Builder, and Azure AI Foundry. You will work closely with other developers, business stakeholders, and the wider IT team to deliver practical, secure, and maintainable solutions that improve business processes, support responsible AI adoption, and follow development, security, and governance best practices.
Responsibilities:
- Application & AI Solution Development: Build, enhance, test, and support applications using Power Apps, including Canvas and Model-Driven apps, alongside AI agents and AI-powered solutions using Copilot Studio, Agent Builder, and Azure AI Foundry. Ensure solutions are well-structured, user-focused, reliable, and ready for production.
- Automation & Workflow: Develop cloud flows using Power Automate and support Logic Apps where required. Build custom RPA solutions using Power Automate Desktop to automate repetitive processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Data, Knowledge & Integration: Implement and support Dataverse data models, relationships, solution components, knowledge sources, prompts, connectors, APIs, JSON-based integrations, and external system connections. Ensure applications and AI agents can securely access and use appropriate enterprise data sources.
- Standards, ALM & Responsible Governance: Contribute to solution design and uphold development standards for application and AI projects. Apply application lifecycle management using Azure DevOps, including source control, testing, release management, documentation, and deployment governance. Follow security, data privacy, DLP, environment, and Responsible AI practices.
- Troubleshooting, Support & Continuous Improvement: Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across applications, automations, integrations, AI agents, and related services. Continuously improve solution performance, reliability, and usability, implementing updates or fixes through the solution lifecycle.
- Collaboration, Enablement & Documentation: Work with business stakeholders to refine requirements and use cases for applications, automations, and AI solutions. Maintain project requirements, technical documentation, and support materials, and provide guidance, technical support, and best-practice advice to colleagues and other teams.
You:
- Power Platform & AI Development: Experience building applications with Power Apps and Power Automate, with hands-on exposure to AI agents or intelligent applications using Copilot Studio, Agent Builder, or similar AI development tools. Experience with Microsoft Foundry would be beneficial.
- Technical Integration Skills: Working knowledge of Dataverse, solution management, enterprise data connections, APIs, connectors, JSON, PowerFx, JavaScript, and basic scripting or programming concepts. An understanding of prompts, knowledge sources, connectors, and AI customisation patterns would be advantageous.
- Microsoft Cloud & M365 Ecosystem: Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure fundamentals, Azure AI services, identity and security basics, and the wider Microsoft ecosystem, with an interest in using these technologies to deliver secure, scalable business and AI-enabled solutions.
- Development Process: Experience working in a structured software development environment, including ALM, source control, testing, release management, and DevOps practices. Able to work independently on defined tasks, debug complex issues, and escalate where needed.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to understand business problems and translate them into practical application, automation, integration, or AI-enabled solutions.
- Communication & Collaboration: Good communication and teamworking skills, with the ability to work closely with technical colleagues and non-technical stakeholders, guide others on good practice, and continue developing application development, Power Platform, and AI solution expertise.
- Experience: Relevant professional experience or a degree in a related field, or equivalent practical experience gained in application development, automation, business systems delivery, AI solution development, or intelligent application support.
