This role provides business partnering to assigned client group in the London office, where the HR Lead works with various key stakeholder Partners (Staff Partners, Head of London Team and leadership teams) to deliver value and ensure alignment of people initiatives with the broader business strategy. A key focus will be stakeholder development and engagement within the portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • The HRL will work with key stakeholders to help build organisation and people capabilities and help shape and implement effective people strategies and activities in line with the Saffery people agenda and the EVP.
  • They are responsible for ensuring there is an appropriate people strategy in place for each function, that is aligned to the broader Saffery People and firm’s cornerstones.
  • This will be done by understanding their functions’ ways of working, how it creates value, their strategic drivers and purpose.
  • This role provides a future focused function that proactively steers the firm across all levels, including Partner level, to identify opportunities to create the most value and impact.
  • A large focus of this role is on change management and interventions to the benefit of client groups.
  • The HRL will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of holistic solutions with a user‑centric approach having consulted closely with the business.
  • This will require the HRL to collaborate with their peers and colleagues (some of whom will be subject matter experts and some will not necessarily be part of the People Experience team) to be able to deliver on these projects.
  • The HRL is required to understand all the various happenings across their portfolios’ employee lifecycles, including but not limited to updates on recruitment, promotions, working with the L&D team on the Pathway to Partnership, and escalated ER cases where required.
  • This should be done through regular meetings and conversations with relevant People Experience colleagues and across the firm as required.
  • The HRL is responsible for enabling the client groups to undertake appropriate talent management strategies and aligning them to the broader Talent management programmes run within L&D.
  • The HRL is responsible for partnering with the business and relevant People Experience teams on all salary reviews.
  • The HRL will sit on the various groups relevant to their client population and will be actively engaged with updates, ideas and will bring solutions to people issues that may be discussed, ensuring that the People strategy is being implemented and measured.
  • The HR team regularly shares their learnings and successes with their peers and broader People Experience team to ensure effective and collaborative knowledge sharing and management.
  • This could be further enhanced with the team working on broader People Experience and/or SSG projects.
  • Interventions will be evidence led to reduce reliance on personal bias, and this is to be complemented with data, supporting and working with the HR Advisors and other teams to gather and interpret this.
  • Data is used for the following purposes - to determine to assess current engagement levels within portfolios, identify trends, diagnose issues, provide predictive analytics to steer decisions (both tactical and strategic) and general management reporting.
  • The HRL is responsible for upholding the Saffery values and ensuring they limit any compromise to both the Saffery’s employment and People Experience brands.
  • As the holders of their far‑reaching portfolios, they should always represent their team and colleagues in the most positive light.

  • High quality experience within similar business partnering role in a professional services environment to fully competent level, preferably in accountancy.
  • Experience of planning, managing, and organising resources to meet objectives.
  • Knowledge of technical and legislative requirements and industry best practice.
  • Ability to interpret complex requirements.
  • Ability to develop and manage new approaches and drive continuous improvement.
  • Able to influence and change the motivation and behaviour of others.
