The role is based in our London Corporate Tax team, where the successful candidate will be responsible for leading a diverse client portfolio, encompassing the delivery of both corporate tax compliance and advisory services. This is a challenging and interesting client-facing role, which will include exposure to a range of both UK and international clients. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join the fast-growing tax group that handles the corporate tax aspects of the firm's Film, Television, and video game clients.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing corporate tax advisory and compliance engagements. Our clients include all the major Hollywood studios, major streaming networks as well as many independent film and television production companies in the US and UK. We also work with many other entities ancillary to film and television production, such as film financiers, visual effects and post-production houses and other service providers. Finally, we work with a number of video game developers ranging from small independents to large multi-national studios.
The responsibilities
- Responsibility for overseeing the delivery of tax reporting and compliance engagements, including tax accounting, across our portfolio of F&TV corporate tax clients.
- Detailed technical research and reviewing technical analysis for clients and other teams.
- Helping to identify business opportunities for the team, including advisory projects and widening the services delivered to our clients.
- Mentoring colleagues and reviewing the work of more junior team members.
- Advising on the operation of the creative sector tax reliefs, and how clients can structure their productions to obtain the maximum benefit from them.
- Advising on a range of technical areas depending on experience and interest, including international tax matters, capital allowances, R&D tax relief, transfer pricing, restructuring, Corporate Interest Restriction.

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and technically capable, with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. The position will require a high level of teamwork and commitment, with the ability to manage deadlines and run multiple projects concurrently. Candidates should be self-motivated, display a positive approach and can get things done. In addition, they should possess the confidence and professionalism to establish credibility at all levels, be commercially minded and have a clear perception of client requirements.
Technical skills are important, and the successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading engagements with corporate clients. This position also requires a team-orientated and flexible personality, alongside the experience of organising the delivery of tax work, problem solving and the ability to use their own initiative. The successful candidate will possess a wide range of tax reporting and advisory experience and will need to have experience in managing a demanding portfolio. Candidates must be professionally qualified CTA/ACA (or equivalent) with relevant experience. The firm will provide training and support to help develop the successful candidate's specialist knowledge and capabilities. For the right individual, there is scope to progress quickly within the team. Knowledge of creative sector relief is preferred but not essential.

A 35-hour working week with a hybrid working policy with the flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week. Eligibility for the firm's Profit-Sharing Plan. Paid in December. Eligibility for the discretionary bonus scheme.
