We are looking for talented individuals to join the Bournemouth office as an Audit Associate within our Audit Team. The successful candidate is expected to be in their 2nd or 3rd year of ACA/ACCA study with solid technical skills.

The role involves working as part of a team to deliver statutory audit and other assurance engagements to our clients. You will:

  • Work with our expansive and varied client base, including large corporate clients and groups with turnover up to £500m, owner managed businesses, and charities.
  • Work on all aspects of statutory audit engagements, from planning through to completion, and will also be involved in the preparation and review of group and single entity financial statements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our clients.
  • Supervise, coach, and develop new trainees.
  • Benefit from investment in coaching and developing you, with direct support from Qualified staff and one-to-one support from the Manager team.

The role provides the opportunity for someone who has commenced their career in the profession to join an organisation and team with a great work-life balance and a genuine interest and focus on you and your career. You will gain experience on large and complex clients in a fast-growing office, creating genuine opportunities for career progression. A full training contract and study support will be provided.

The Audit Team within the Bournemouth office comprises circa 35 members of staff, from audit trainees up to Partners. The team works with all partners within the office, and firmwide, on a variety of tasks including audits, statutory accounts preparation, and ad-hoc client queries. There is a real focus on development within the team, with the aim being for staff to develop their careers long term within the firm.

Alongside a commitment to client service and excellence in their work, there is a willingness to help each other and succeed as a team.

We offer accounting, audit and assurance, business advisory, tax and VAT services, acting for businesses and individuals both in the UK and internationally. The portfolio of clients held within the office ranges from AIM listed clients and large corporate groups to landed estates, with key specialisms in owner managed businesses, property, private wealth, and professional practices. Our staff work regularly and closely with their colleagues in our national offices to provide a seamless service to clients, wherever they are located.

The successful candidate will be studying ACA/ACCA and should have prior experience in an audit and accounts role, with emphasis on audit experience given this area of growth. You should be motivated, organised, commercially minded, and have a clear perception of good client service. In addition, you should possess good interpersonal skills, demonstrate initiative, and be able to provide accurate work in a timely and cost-effective manner. You should display a flexible, professional approach, and have the confidence and ability to establish credibility with Partners and clients. Excellent communication skills and being a natural team player is essential, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Although not a pre-requisite, it would be beneficial if you had a driving licence and the ability to travel to client premises.

A 35 hour working week and a hybrid working policy with a minimum of 2 days in the office (our core hours are 10-4) is offered, along with excellent benefits including a contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave, Life Assurance cover, and great flexible benefits and family friendly policies. Eligibility for the firm's Profit-Sharing Plan is also included, paid in December.
