The role involves delivering employment tax advisory services, leading complex projects, and acting as a key technical resource for internal and external clients. The successful candidate will work closely with Partners and other service lines to deliver high-quality advice and support the development of the employment tax offering across the firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead on employment tax advisory projects including status assessments (IR35), transactions, due diligence and risk reviews.
  • Act as a senior technical specialist supporting internal stakeholders across audit, corporate tax and wider advisory teams.
  • Provide clear, practical advice on PAYE, NIC, benefits, employment status and governance matters.
  • Manage client relationships and act as a key point of contact on advisory engagements.
  • Support business development activities including proposals, pitches and identifying opportunities.
  • Assist in developing the team’s advisory capability and mentoring junior staff.
  • Ensure high-quality delivery of all engagements, including risk management and timely completion.

The team:

The Employment Taxes team delivers a wide range of advisory and compliance services, working closely with other service lines to provide integrated advice, with strong potential to expand its advisory offering across the firm’s client base.

You:

  • Strong experience in employment tax advisory work.
  • Deep technical knowledge of employment taxes including PAYE, NIC, benefits and employment status.
  • Demonstrable experience leading projects and managing client relationships.
  • Ability to collaborate with other teams and provide internal technical support.
  • Commercial awareness and ability to contribute to business development.
  • Professional qualification such as CTA, ACA or equivalent.

Reward and benefits:

A 35 hour working week with a hybrid working policy allowing flexibility to work from home for up to three days per week (core hours are 10-4). Excellent benefits including contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave, Life Assurance cover, flexible benefits and family friendly policies. Eligibility for the firm’s Profit-Sharing Plan (paid in December) and discretionary bonus scheme.
