The Bournemouth office is looking for an experienced, professional and enthusiastic Audit Senior to join our audit and accounts team. Applicants must be ACA or ACCA qualified/finalist and be able to display a commercially minded and proactive approach to client work.

The role is varied and challenging, including exposure to a wide range of clients, often working to tight deadlines. Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering complete Audit files to managers, including full planning, identifying risks, setting materiality and designing appropriate tests.
  • Leading a team on audit fieldwork, focusing on team development and delivering a positive client experience.
  • Conducting detailed audit work, taking ownership for decisions and conclusions made through professional judgment.
  • Ensuring a good understanding of audit requirements, applying professional scepticism and maintaining appropriate documentation.
  • Developing rapport with clients to deliver effective audits and accounts.
  • Completing files, summarising key audit findings for the partner's attention.
  • Maintaining regular and effective communication with manager and team throughout the audit process.
  • Managing budgetary control and keeping the manager informed.
  • Liaising with other teams to ensure a joined-up service.
  • Reviewing the work of junior team members.
  • Working across client sites, as well as in the office and from home.

The Audit Team within the Bournemouth office comprises circa 35 members of staff, from audit trainees to partners. The team works with all partners within the office and firmwide on various tasks including audits, statutory accounts preparation and ad-hoc client queries. There is a strong focus on development within the team, aiming for staff to develop their careers long term within the firm.

We offer accounting, audit and assurance, business advisory, tax and VAT services, acting for businesses and individuals both in the UK and internationally. Our portfolio of clients ranges from AIM listed clients and large corporate groups to landed estates, with key specialisms in owner-managed businesses, property, private wealth and professional practices.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified.
  • Audit experience, including planning and completion.
  • Good knowledge of UK GAAP; IFRS would be beneficial.
  • Proven track record in accounts preparation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Client-focused with commercial awareness.
  • Computer experience: Excel, Word and ideally CCH accounts and audit automation.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work on multiple jobs at once.
  • Experience of running teams and supervising junior team members.
  • Ability to work in a pressured environment.
  • Proactive nature and enjoys working as part of a team.

Although not a pre-requisite, it would be beneficial to have a driving licence and the ability to travel to client premises.
