Senior Group HR Business Partner

Salary

Location

Brentford / Hybrid | 4 day week considered | PE-backed global business | Senior ER

We are a global leader with over 50 years’ experience, helping businesses operate more safely, responsibly, and efficiently through our specialist cleaning, waste, and environmental services.

Across our international business, we support customers with critical operational needs while helping reduce environmental impact.

Backed by private equity and headquartered in London, we operate across 15 countries and work with over 2,000 colleagues.

As we continue to grow the ability to make strong, commercially sound people decisions matters more than ever.

The Opportunity

We’re hiring a Senior HR Business Partner - Group & Executive to act as a trusted adviser on senior Employee Relations matters while helping our CPO drive organisational people strategy across our global workforce.

This is not a conventional HRBP role.

It sits close to the centre of the business, partnering senior leaders on sensitive people issues, helping manage risk and compliance, and contributing to complex change across a growing international organisation.

You will be a key voice on senior ER, policy, people risk and organisational judgement - with the credibility to influence at the right level and the confidence to operate in ambiguity.

Alongside the ER core, this role also gives you real breadth: organisational people strategy, HR projects and programmes, policy development, global collaboration, communications, reward support and business change.

You will also use people data and HR KPIs to create insight, support decision-making and prepare clear updates for senior management and Board-level discussions.

In a PE-backed company, pace, resilience and judgement matter. This role is for someone who can think clearly, act decisively and help leaders navigate complexity well.

  • Why this role is different
  • Act as a trusted adviser on complex Employee Relations matters at senior level, including support to the Group CEO on sensitive people issues
  • Work closely with the CPO to help drive organisational people strategy across a global workforce of 2,000 colleagues
  • Operate in a PE-backed business where pace, change, scrutiny and judgement are all part of the role
  • Combine complex ER, organisational change, HR projects, policy and global collaboration in one high-impact position
  • Partner senior leaders across Group and UK&I, including demanding, high-visibility functions where strong judgement and discretion really matter
  • Join a role with real breadth, where you are not just responding to issues - you are helping shape how the business thinks, acts and grows
  • What you’ll be doing
  • Partner senior leaders across Group and work closely with local HR Directors across our international markets
  • Lead on a broad range of Employee Relations matters, including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management, restructures, redundancies, sickness absence, probation, subject access requests and employment claims
  • Provide pragmatic, trusted advice on complex and sensitive people issues, particularly for senior populations
  • Use HR data and KPIs to identify trends, create insight and support decision-making
  • Support the CPO with compelling presentations and updates for senior management and Board meetings
  • Support international recruitment and cross-border movement of Group employees with local HR leaders
  • Advise on company-sponsored visas and manage activity linked to the Sponsor Management System
  • Help coordinate reward processes across Group and UK&I, including letters and payroll inputs, with overseas coordination where needed
  • Maintain and improve HR policies, processes, letter templates, Share Point content, organisation charts and communications
  • Contribute to engagement activity, coaching, training support and wider people initiatives as required
  • Work in close partnership with the CPO, staying one step ahead, helping manage priorities and supporting delivery of wider people strategy
  • Who this could suit
  • a Senior HR Business Partner or HR Business Partner role with strong Employee Relations depth
  • a broad HR generalist role in an operational, fast-paced or multi-site environment
  • an organisation where you have supported senior stakeholders through high-risk, sensitive or complex people issues
  • a business with international exposure, matrix working or cross-border HR collaboration

This role will suit someone who is passionate about Employee Relations but also wants to broaden their impact across people strategy, projects and change.

  • What we’re looking for
  • Significant HR experience, particularly in Employee Relations
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and sound judgement on people risk and compliance
  • Gravitas and credibility to win the trust and respect of senior leaders
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High levels of discretion, organisation and follow-through
  • A proactive, self-starting mindset - someone who gets things done and does not wait to be told
  • Resilience, practicality and diligence
  • Confidence operating in ambiguity and turning it into action
  • International exposure would be helpful
  • Strong Power Point, Excel and people data capability, with the ability to turn HR metrics and insight into clear, senior-level presentations and recommendations
  • The Package
  • 10% bonus
  • Brentford-based role
  • 5% Contributory Pension scheme
  • Family life assurance (3x salary)
  • Private healthcare from day 1
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity pay
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Learning and career development support
  • Employee recognition programme
  • Retail discounts and cashback
  • Employee Assistance Programme with 24/7 confidential helpline

If you’re looking for a senior HR role with real judgement, high-level stakeholder exposure and the opportunity to influence people strategy, risk and change in a PE-backed international business, this is a standout opportunity.
