Overview

This field-based role covers the Northeast of England. We’re looking for a driven and customer-focused Business Development Manager to join our team, specialising in waste management solutions. You’ll own the entire sales cycle—from initial contact to closing the deal—and build strong relationships with clients to understand their challenges and deliver tailored solutions. Safetykleen is the leading provider of Parts Cleaning, Waste Collection and Environmental Advisory services to businesses. Our operations span 16 countries. Safetykleen employs over 2,000 people across 92 branches and delivers over 1 million services per year. With 19 branches across the UK and Ireland, we employ approximately 600 people, committed to our mission of making the planet Safer and Kleener.

Base pay range

£32,000 to £38,000 per annum with OTE £60,000. Car allowance £5,200 per year. Other benefits are listed below.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the sales cycle from initial contact to successful sale
  • Book and attend appointments with potential customers, showcasing products and services
  • Follow company processes, conduct onsite meetings, understand customer needs, and offer tailored solutions
  • Prospect for new customers via cold calling, face-to-face meetings, and networking
  • Analyze current and potential customer bases, plan activities to optimise results
  • Build and manage a sales pipeline with steady progress
  • Regularly update CRM and internal tools to track conversations and opportunities
  • Use data insights to provide accurate sales forecasts
  • Develop lasting relationships with customers, colleagues, and support teams
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet customer requirements and resolve issues
  • Participate in sales training, branch meetings, and corporate events
