HSEQ Advisor | Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality

We are seeking a proactive and motivated HSEQ Officer to support the development, implementation, and continual improvement of our Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems. This is a key role within the business, ensuring compliance with legislation, maintaining high operational standards, and promoting a positive safety culture across all branches.

This is a key role within the business, ensuring compliance with legislation, maintaining high operational standards, and promoting a positive safety culture across all branches.

You will work closely with operational teams, managers, and senior leadership to drive best practice, support investigations, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Health & Safety leadership - Promote a proactive safety culture across all operations.
  • Management system support - Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 across all 19 branches.
  • Inspections & audits - Conduct workplace inspections, internal audits, and support external audit processes.
  • Incident investigation - Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Risk assessments - Support the completion, review, and improvement of risk assessments and safe systems of work.
  • Compliance monitoring - Ensure adherence to company procedures and statutory requirements including HASAWA, COSHH, PUWER, LOLER, RIDDOR and Fire Safety legislation.
  • Emergency preparedness - Assist with fire safety, evacuation procedures, and business continuity planning.
  • Maintain accurate safety documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

About You

You're an experienced HSEQ professional who enjoys being out in the business, building relationships and influencing positive change. You have a practical approach to Health & Safety, can confidently challenge where required and always look for solutions rather than simply identifying problems.

You’ll be highly organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities across a multi-site environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

  • Experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation.
  • Experience conducting investigations and risk assessments.
  • Ability to influence, coach and engage colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and administrative ability.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Desirable

  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
