We are looking for a Credit Control Team Leader to support the day‑to‑day leadership of our Billing and Credit Control team across the UK and Ireland. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys working closely with a team, supporting strong collections activity, helping manage customer account issues and keeping credit control activity moving with pace, accuracy and professionalism. This role is about more than managing overdue accounts. It is about helping the team stay focused, supported and consistent, while ensuring customer conversations are handled fairly, commercially and with care.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You will support the Head of Billing and Credit Control in the daily management of a medium‑sized Credit Control team, helping the team deliver against agreed priorities and maintain strong customer account discipline.
Responsibilities
- Supporting, guiding and motivating the Credit Control team in their day‑to‑day activity
- Helping the team deliver against agreed collection targets, KPIs and service expectations
- Providing coaching, feedback and practical support to team members
- Helping manage aged debt, reduce risk and minimise potential write‑offs
- Supporting the review of customer accounts where further action or legal escalation may be required
- Handling escalated customer account queries professionally and constructively
- Working with colleagues across the business to help resolve customer issues quickly and clearly
- Ensuring credit control systems are updated accurately and reflect current activity
- Preparing updates, reports and information on collections and debt activity for management
- Supporting process changes across the Order to Cash function where required
- Providing training and guidance to help maintain a consistent approach across the team
The Package

What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is confident, organised and people‑focused, with strong credit control experience and the ability to lead from the front. You will need:
- Experience in credit control, collections or debt management
- Experience supervising, mentoring or leading others
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to handle escalated customer conversations
- The ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines
- Good judgement when dealing with customer disputes, risk and sensitive account issues
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record keeping
- Good Microsoft Office skills and confidence using credit control systems
- The ability to challenge constructively and work with stakeholders to find solutions
