Environmental Advisor - Sizewell C Location: Sizewell, Suffolk Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 Working pattern: 3 days on site, 2 days working from home Type: Permanent Looking for your next environmental role on one of the UK’s biggest infrastructure projects? We are recruiting an Environmental Advisor to support works on the Sizewell C project in Suffolk. This is an opportunity to join a major construction and infrastructure environment where you’ll work closely with project teams, contractors and operational stakeholders to help manage environmental risk and maintain high standards across the project. The role also offers a strong hybrid working pattern, with three days per week on site and two days working from home. What you’ll be doing As Environmental Advisor, you’ll provide practical environmental support across the project, including: * Carrying out environmental inspections and audits * Supporting compliance with environmental legislation, permits and project requirements * Advising site and project teams on environmental risks and controls * Supporting pollution prevention and environmental incident investigations * Monitoring waste management and resource efficiency * Supporting environmental management systems and procedures * Reviewing environmental plans, assessments and documentation * Working with contractors to improve environmental performance * Supporting areas such as water management, ecology, noise, dust and waste * Identifying environmental risks and ensuring actions are followed through * Helping promote good environmental practice across the project What we’re looking for You’ll ideally already have experience in an Environmental Advisor, Environmental Coordinator or similar role within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities or another complex project environment. You should also have: * A relevant environmental qualification or degree * Good knowledge of UK environmental legislation * Experience carrying out environmental inspections or audits * Confidence working with site teams and contractors * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills * A practical approach to environmental management Experience with ISO 14001, environmental management systems, major infrastructure, nuclear, utilities or large-scale construction would be particularly useful. IEMA membership or progress towards professional membership would also be beneficial.
