We are supporting a manufacturing business in Northampton that requires an experienced Health & Safety Manager on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can quickly assess risk, stabilise standards, and drive compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will take ownership of site Health & Safety, working closely with senior leadership and operational teams to ensure legal compliance, improve standards, and embed a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all Health & Safety activities across the manufacturing facility
  • Ensure full compliance with UK H&S legislation, HSE guidance, and company standards
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations
  • Review, implement, and improve policies, procedures, and safe systems of work
  • Provide clear, practical H&S advice to managers and shop-floor teams
  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings where required
  • Act as the main point of contact for HSE and external stakeholders

About You

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) – Diploma desirable
  • Confident operating independently and influencing at all levels
  • Practical, solutions-focused approach with a visible presence on site

Contract Details

  • Duration: 3-month fixed term contract
  • Location: On-site in Northampton
  • Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 (pro rata)
  • Start: ASAP
