We are supporting a manufacturing business in Northampton that requires an experienced Health & Safety Manager on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can quickly assess risk, stabilise standards, and drive compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will take ownership of site Health & Safety, working closely with senior leadership and operational teams to ensure legal compliance, improve standards, and embed a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all Health & Safety activities across the manufacturing facility
- Ensure full compliance with UK H&S legislation, HSE guidance, and company standards
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations
- Review, implement, and improve policies, procedures, and safe systems of work
- Provide clear, practical H&S advice to managers and shop-floor teams
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings where required
- Act as the main point of contact for HSE and external stakeholders
About You
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation
- NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) – Diploma desirable
- Confident operating independently and influencing at all levels
- Practical, solutions-focused approach with a visible presence on site
Contract Details
- Duration: 3-month fixed term contract
- Location: On-site in Northampton
- Salary: £55,000 – £60,000 (pro rata)
- Start: ASAP
