I am working with an established construction subcontractor that is looking to appoint a Health & Safety and Training Administrator to support its operations across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
This is a varied role combining health and safety administration, training coordination and general support to the wider H&S function.
The position would suit someone who is organised, confident dealing with site teams and comfortable managing records, systems, training requirements and compliance documentation across a busy construction business.
The role will include
- Maintaining health and safety records, systems and databases
- Coordinating internal and external training courses
- Monitoring training expiry dates and arranging refresher training
- Managing competency records, certificates and site documentation
- Supporting the preparation of reports, audits and compliance information
- Assisting with accident, incident and near-miss administration
- Updating policies, procedures and health and safety documentation
- Liaising with site teams, managers and external training providers
- Supporting inductions, toolbox talks and general training administration
- Tracking corrective actions and ensuring records remain up to date
- Providing wider administrative support to the Health & Safety team
The successful candidate will ideally have
- Previous experience in a health and safety, training or compliance administration role
- Experience within construction, civil engineering or a related sector
- Strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and internal management systems
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
- Knowledge of training matrices, competency records or construction compliance
- A health and safety qualification would be advantageous but is not essential
This is a strong opportunity to join a growing construction business in a role where you will have real responsibility and work closely with both operational and health and safety teams.
Applicants must be based within a realistic commuting distance of Birmingham.
