An established construction consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Associate Principal Designer to join its Leeds city centre team. This is a senior appointment offering responsibility for managing Principal Designer commissions, supporting clients and project teams, and helping develop the consultancy's wider health and safety and design-risk offering.
The successful candidate will have strong experience delivering Principal Designer services under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. Experience acting as Principal Designer under the Building Regulations would be highly advantageous.
The role includes:
- Acting as Principal Designer under CDM 2015
- Advising clients, designers and contractors on their duties
- Leading design-risk management from pre-construction through delivery
- Reviewing design information and identifying foreseeable risks
- Coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors and wider project teams
- Preparing and reviewing pre-construction information
- Supporting the development of construction phase plans and health and safety files
- Attending design-team, client and project meetings
- Monitoring compliance and maintaining clear project records
- Managing a portfolio of commissions
