Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Lifting Equipment Sales & Hire Specialist to join our team at our Dartford Branch.

Industry experience within lifting equipment, rigging, hoisting, or a related industrial sector is essential.

The Role

As a Lifting Equipment Sales & Hire Specialist, you will be responsible for managing customer enquiries, preparing quotations, coordinating equipment hire, and delivering outstanding customer service. You will work closely with operations and engineering teams to ensure customers receive the right equipment and support for their lifting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with customers to understand requirements and recommend suitable products and hire solutions.
  • Manage the complete hire and rental process, explaining terms and conditions and ensuring accurate agreements are completed.
  • Assess customer needs effectively to provide tailored solutions for both sales and equipment hire.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of products, services, pricing, and the hire fleet to deliver informed advice.
  • Prepare accurate quotations, process orders efficiently, and complete all necessary documentation.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, resolving queries promptly and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and long‑term loyalty.
  • Monitor hire fleet availability and coordinate with relevant departments to ensure equipment is prepared, issued, and returned efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities for cross‑selling and up‑selling additional products and services.
  • Process payments accurately in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of sales transactions, hire agreements, and customer interactions.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures relating to sales, hire operations, and customer service standards.

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience within the lifting equipment industry.
  • Experience in internal sales, hire desk, customer service or account management.
  • Knowledge of lifting gear, chain slings, webbing slings, hoists, shackles, load restraint or related products.
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office and CRM/ERP systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • LEEA qualifications or industry knowledge.
  • Understanding of LOLER regulations and lifting operations.
  • Experience within construction, industrial, offshore or engineering sectors.
