Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Fire Safety Manager with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience in fire risk assessment including high-rise residential blocks. This is a senior leadership role with formal responsibility for managing and developing the survey team. Alongside undertaking complex or higher-risk assessments, the role is accountable for technical quality assurance, team capability, workload coordination, and client-facing delivery. You will balance people leadership with hands-on technical involvement, acting as a senior point of expertise within the business. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running after induction and who wants to make a genuine impact within a growing consultancy. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of surveyors undertaking onsite health, safety, and fire safety inspections, primarily at high-rise residential buildings, including fire risk assessments, passive fire compartmentation, fire door inspections, health and safety assessments, BSR compliance audits, and asbestos surveys in line with the statutory regulations.
- Ensure surveyors produce clear, accurate, and comprehensive fire safety reports, policies, and evacuation procedures, tailored to the building and client needs.
- Where necessary, travel to sites across London and occasionally to other regions of England to train and validate surveyors and assist as may be necessary.
- Review, quality-check, and formally validate and sign off risk assessments and technical outputs produced by the team, within agreed authority levels.
- Act as a senior technical and operational point of contact for both colleagues and clients.
- Provide day-to-day technical guidance, mentoring, and coaching to consultants and company employees.
- Coordinate workloads, capacity, and priorities across the survey team, ensuring work is allocated in line with competence and risk profile.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum Level 4 qualification in Fire Risk Assessments of high-rise residential blocks of flats requirements.
- At least 5 years proven experience undertaking fire risk assessments, particularly within high-rise residential blocks of flats.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant fire and building safety legislation, including:
- Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
- Building Safety Act 2022
- Fire Safety Act 2021
- Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022
- Health and safety etc Act 1974 and associated regulations and guidance
- CDM Regulations
- Experience interpreting complex specialist reports (e.g. fire engineering, intrusive surveys, façade assessments) and advising on outcomes and required remediation.
- Proven experience leading or coordinating a surveying team.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to be assertive where required.
- Ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including residents and managing agents.
