At our world class facility in Elphinstone, Tranent (close to Edinburgh), our Archive Department currently has an exciting career opportunity for an Assistant Archive Associate on a 3 month fixed term contract. Due to our continued growth and success, we can offer rewarding opportunities in a research environment. Working as an Assistant Archive Associate, you will assist the Archivist in ensuring the correct operation of the Company Archives, which receives and manages a variety of data.

Specifically, you will assist with receipt, storage, retrieval, retention, scheduling and final disposition of data and samples. This position would suit a meticulous individual, preferably who enjoys working within organised and well-established procedures and should be neat and methodical in their approach to work.

Applicants must have:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Well-developed communication and customer service skills
  • Experience of working within a team environment
  • Experience of computerised data entry, data management, and word processing
  • Experience in an archiving environment would be desirable

The salary is £25,352.56 per annum. The closing date is 19 June 2026.

Ensures management of electronic/paper document collection, storage, controlled access/retrieval and archives. Manages system user administration, dictionaries, security, access control lists and quality control processes to ensure document integrity for electronic document collection, storage and retrieval. Ensures accurate and timely throughput of electronic/paper documents into document management systems; identify and resolve issues to assure seamless integration with the publishing and submissions functions. Supports audits, inspections, divestitures, due diligence and litigation activities. Ensures continuous efficiency and effective process improvement measurements are conducted to evaluate external vendors.
