  • Web Product Manager
  • Department: Support Office
  • Description
  • Department: Marketing

Working within the Digital Marketing function, this role supports the continuous improvement of Safestore's digital customer journey - from website search through to quote generation, pricing, and conversion - helping to deliver a smooth, reliable, and user-friendly online experience at every step.

The role combines a marketing and conversion mindset with a structured, testing-led approach: validating that new website developments dovetail internal pricing and business systems (such as CRM) to deliver the intended customer experience and maximise conversion opportunity for sales teams, without compromising usability for web users.

Working closely with Marketing, IT, and external development partners, the role helps ensure that changes to the site, pricing logic, and customer data flow are tested thoroughly before release, and that resulting performance data is used to shape ongoing improvements.

The role also involves some light technical troubleshooting and minor front-end updates as part of identifying and resolving issues to enhance the overall customer journey.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Work with the Head of Digital Experience and marketing colleagues to prioritise UX and conversion improvements across the customer journey
  • Alongside IT and commercial teams, carry out structured testing across Safestore’s web CMS, pricing systems, customer database and CRM, as well as associated sales systems and other internal tools.
  • Identify, log and track bugs and user experience issues, working with development partners to support timely resolution.
  • Support basic troubleshooting activities, including minor front-end updates and content structure improvements.
  • Assist with testing environments and release processes, working alongside IT and development teams.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing, IT and external partners to test and support the delivery of website updates and new functionality.
  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression testing activities prior to system releases.
  • Support CRO and A/B testing activity, reviewing performance data and highlighting opportunities to improve the digital customer journey.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including testing processes, system updates and release notes.

Experience and Skills Required

  • Experience in digital marketing, CRO, UX, or digital analytics, with a structured, test-and-learn approach to problem-solving (typically 2+ years' relevant experience).
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A customer-focused mindset, with an understanding of digital user experience (UX) principles and usability.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, IT and Development.
  • Basic technical knowledge to support testing and troubleshooting activities, including:
  • HTML, CSS and Java Script
  • Exposure to . NET environments or SQL databases (desirable but not essential)
  • Experience using content management systems (CMS), with Kentico experience, is considered an advantage.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Comfortable working with data and performance metrics to support improvements.
  • Awareness of web accessibility standards and data protection requirements (e. g. GDPR) is beneficial.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Digital Marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
