Support the development, testing and continuous improvement of Safestore’s digital platforms, helping to deliver a smooth, reliable and user-friendly online customer experience. Working in a fast-paced commercial environment, the role focuses on structured testing and optimisation across the website CMS, pricing systems, customer database and CRM. Through hands-on testing and collaboration with internal teams, the role helps ensure systems operate effectively and support the delivery of digital and commercial objectives. The role combines web and system testing with light technical troubleshooting and minor front-end updates, identifying issues, supporting improvements and helping to enhance the overall customer journey. The position works closely with Marketing, IT and external development partners, contributing to the ongoing improvement of Safestore’s digital platforms.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Work with the Head of Digital Experience, IT and development teams to support the planning and prioritisation of UX improvements.
- Carry out structured testing across Safestore’s web CMS, pricing systems, customer database and CRM, as well as associated booking platforms and internal tools.
- Identify, log and track bugs and user experience issues, working with development partners to support timely resolution.
- Support basic troubleshooting activities, including minor front-end updates and content structure improvements.
- Assist with testing environments and release processes, working alongside IT and development teams.
- Collaborate with internal marketing, IT and external partners to test and support the delivery of website updates and new functionality.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression testing activities prior to system releases.
- Support CRO and A/B testing activity, reviewing performance data and highlighting opportunities to improve the digital customer journey.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including testing processes, system updates and release notes.
Experience and Skills Required
- Proven experience in UX, web/system testing, QA or digital project support (typically around 2+ years’ relevant experience).
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- A customer-focused mindset, with an understanding of digital user experience (UX) principles and usability.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, IT and Development.
- Basic technical knowledge to support testing and troubleshooting activities, including: HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
- Exposure to .NET environments or SQL databases (desirable but not essential).
- Experience using content management systems (CMS), with Kentico experience, is considered an advantage.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Comfortable working with data and performance metrics to support improvements.
- Awareness of web accessibility standards and data protection requirements (e.g. GDPR) is beneficial.
- Degree in Computer Science, Digital Marketing or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
