SafeShark is one of the UK's leading cybersecurity compliance testing specialists for connected consumer electronics. We help manufacturers of IoT devices, smart home products, televisions and consumer electronics achieve UK and EU market access through independent testing to demonstrate conformity to legislation such as RED, CRA (Cyber Resilience Act) and PSTI. Our clients include some of the world's most recognised consumer electronics brands, including LG, Panasonic, Sharp, Roku and Alarm.com.
Cybersecurity compliance is now a legal requirement for any manufacturer seeking to sell connected products in the UK or EU. The market for compliance testing is growing rapidly and SafeShark is growing with it.
This is a new business development role with full commercial ownership. You will be responsible for the entire sales journey from initial cold prospecting through to qualified commercial opportunity and conversion into signed business. The SafeShark technical team will support you on product and delivery specifics, but the commercial relationship, pipeline progression and deal closure are yours to own.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Identifying and targeting manufacturers of connected consumer electronics who require RED, CRA or PSTI cybersecurity compliance testing.
- Building and managing your own outbound prospecting activity, cold to warm outreach, LinkedIn, referrals and event networking.
- Attending industry trade shows, conferences and events across the UK and Europe to generate leads, build relationships and identify new commercial opportunities.
- Owning the full sales cycle from cold prospecting through to signed agreement with the SafeShark technical team providing product and delivery support throughout.
- Engaging decision-makers, understanding customer needs, building the commercial case for SafeShark’s services and progressing opportunities towards closure.
- Maintaining an accurate and up-to-date pipeline, with regular reporting on activity and progress.
- Representing SafeShark professionally across the UK market and at international events.
- Working closely within the commercial team to refine messaging, assist in targeting and go-to-market approach.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Essential
- A demonstrable track record in B2B new business sales. You can show deals won, pipeline built and targets hit.
- High energy, self-motivated and genuinely hungry to sell. You do not need to be chased for activity.
- Confident and skilled at outbound prospecting. You are comfortable in a high activity sales environment.
- Comfortable selling a technical product without being the technical expert. You know when to bring in support and how to position yourself credibly.
- Organised and disciplined in managing your own pipeline and workload remotely.
- Willing and able to travel to events and conferences across the UK and Europe on a regular basis.
Experience
- Experience in cybersecurity, compliance testing, IoT, consumer electronics or a related technical field.
- Existing network of contacts within consumer electronics manufacturing, retail, distribution or product development.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as RED, PSTI or the EU Cyber Resilience Act.
- Experience using HubSpot CRM to manage pipeline, track sales activity and maintain customer records.
THE PACKAGE
- Base Salary - £60,000 per annum.
- Commission - Details to be released to successful candidate.
- Working Pattern - Fully remote, with regular travel to events and conferences.
- Expenses - Travel and event expenses covered.
