Safer Hand Solutions are working in partnership with a well-established children's care provider to recruit a Level 3 Qualified Support Worker on a 12-week temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive residential service providing care and support to children and young people with additional needs, including learning disabilities, sensory impairments, complex needs, and behaviours that may challenge. The 12-week temp-to-perm arrangement allows both you and the employer to ensure the role is the right long-term fit before moving into a permanent position. The Role

As a Level 3 Residential Support Worker, you will provide high-quality care and support to children and young people within a residential setting. You will help create a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where young people can develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will build positive relationships, support daily routines, and promote positive outcomes for the young people in your care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop positive and trusting relationships with young people
  • Support daily living activities and routines
  • Encourage independence, confidence, and personal development
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and external professionals
  • Support young people to attend education, appointments, and activities
  • Participate in recreational and community-based activities
  • Manage challenging situations calmly and professionally
  • Complete records and documentation accurately
  • Follow care plans and safeguarding procedures at all times

Requirements

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) - Essential
  • Previous experience working with children and young people in a residential or similar environment
  • A resilient, patient, and caring approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality care and support
  • Full UK Driving Licence desirable
