A busy and growing logistics company based in Stoke is looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join their friendly and supportive finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who is looking to take ownership of key financial processes and play an active role in supporting business decision‐making. Working closely with the Finance Director, you will be a key member of a small but collaborative finance team, contributing to the financial management and continued growth of the business.

Salary up to ÂŁ40,000 (dependent on experience)

Monday to Friday 8:00am - 5:30pm Stoke-on-Trent

This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a hands‐on environment, where they can take responsibility for producing accurate financial information, improving processes, and providing valuable insight to support the wider business.

Key responsibilities:
  • Preparing monthly management accounts and supporting month‐end processes
  • Conducting variance analysis and providing commentary on financial performance
  • Assisting with budget preparation and forecasting
  • Supporting the Finance Director with financial reporting and analysis
  • Maintaining accurate balance sheet reconciliations
  • Overseeing aspects of the purchase and sales ledger where required
  • Monitoring cash flow and assisting with cash forecasting
  • Supporting year‐end preparation and liaising with external accountants/auditors
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting
  • Providing financial insight and support to operational teams across the business
Requirements:
  • Experience producing management accounts and financial reports
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience using accounting software such as Sage 50 (Online) or similar
  • Good Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
  • Experience working within a fast‐paced commercial environment
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with non‐finance stakeholders
  • Candidates who are studying or qualified in AAT, ACCA or CIMA would be highly desirable, although qualified by experience candidates will also be considered.
