My client is a well-known, national Children’s Residential Care Company. Renowned in the sector. Offering a range of services which include modern residential care for children, young people and adults and operate a significant range of supported living schemes that include individual flats, houses and grouped accommodation arrangements. This is an excellent opportunity for a Deputy Manager to join the Children’s Home in Dewsbury, which has been rated as GOOD with Ofsted and works extremely well with external agencies including local authorities.

As the Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for deputising in the Registered Managers’ absence and supporting Team Leaders and Support Workers.
The Deputy Manager will be:
* Support and work alongside the Registered Manager to ensure the home meets with the requirements of the Children\'s Homes Regulations and Quality Standard.
* Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
* Oversee the day to day running of the Dewsbury home.
* Responsible for direct supervision and support of the residential team.
* Oversee and support the development of staff and the young people in placement.
* Updating placement plans and risk assessments
* Work in partnership with local authorities, schools and families to support the young person.
* Demonstrate a working knowledge and understanding of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, The Quality Care Standards and the SCCIF, under which each home is measured and judged against and promptly implement any recommendations or address requirements to improve the service after any Ofsted inspection.
* To ensure that the home provides an environment that is safe and sensitive to the needs of the young people being looked after
* Ensure that education is promoted and supported and that each child’s attendance in education is maintained.
* Ensure that the specific needs of the young people are met, i.e. religious observance, cultural needs, dietary requirements and any medical conditions and their treatment.
The ideal candidate for the Deputy Manager will have:
* Passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people in care.
* At least 2 years’ experience relating to residential care of children.
* Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care essential
* Understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
* Efficiency in planning, organising, budget control, resource allocation and team leadership.
* Confidence in effective verbal and written communication.
* Knowledge of the needs of children with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
* Full UK Manual Driver’s Licence.
